Health Initiative Based in Washington, DC

There is growing shortage of health care in Africa. This crisis is due to the migration of health care professionals and the lack or training facilities. African Union - African Diaspora Health Initiative in Washington, DC strives to mobilize African Diaspora health care professionals.

Health Care Shortage
There is a lack of training facilities and professionals in certain parts of Africa — only 1 primary doctor for every 100,000 people. Moreover, some countries in Africa do not even have a specialist.

Without specialists or primary care doctors, the African people are dying from undiagnosed problems that could be prevented or cured. These issues include hypertension, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.

We Are Looking For You
AU-ADHI is looking for people and Diaspora's who want to make a difference by providing health care. We are hoping to have the hospitals covered every day of the year with our volunteers.
